Seeking AMAZING People

What kind of teachers would fit in with our Habitat?

We value flexibility, creativity, ingenuity, kindness, imagination, intelligence, organization, self-motivation, self-improvement and cooperation. We value experienced teachers, and non-teaching professionals with a passion for helping the next generation of learners. We are always looking for qualified individuals to work with us. We often find that non-teachers bring amazing skills and insight to our classes, so previous teaching is not a requirement. We prefer candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, but will consider experience in lieu of education. We go outside….no matter the weather. We have a lot of non-traditional learners and children with learning, developmental, or behavioral challenges. Having experience and skills to work with these children is necessary. We adapt our lessons on the spot. We encourage outdoor education and enjoying nature around us. We believe in cross-curriculum learning, emotional and social education, and critical and creative thinking. We believe in letting children solve problems, and we don’t believe worksheets and textbooks are adequate.

We are always hands-on learning, moving, and laughing. We are loud. We are messy. We love life. We love children. We have fun. We love learning.
