Hi, my name is Jules, and I’m thrilled to be joining such an amazing organization! I’m a nerdy, tree hugging, recycling expert, animal handler/rescuer and humane educator. I consider myself a life long learner. My degrees include Environmental studies, Philosophy, World Religions and Elementary Education. I attended UNC-Wilmington as an undergrad and UNC Chapel Hill for graduate studies.

Go TARHEELS!

I have been blessed to work with students preK-12. I honestly love every age group! I enjoyed teaching elementary STEM, followed by middle school science. I am passionate about providing an inclusive learning atmosphere. I closely focused on the Social Emotional Learning of my students. I’m experienced supporting special needs, ELLs and diversified learners. I provided a dynamic outdoor classroom including school based community gardens. I established school wide recycling initiatives at each school I taught at. I also directed Environmental Stewardship Clubs. My nonprofit experience in youth advocacy began when I joined MGR Foundation, a platform supporting high school age students in three areas; youth empowerment, social awareness and environmental justice. I started an Environmental Justice Club and helped establish a community garden. My students were active in promoting recycling awareness through multiple media campaigns, televised in Charlotte.

I’m blessed by Jesus with a daughter Annabelle, Sunny, my cuddle noodle, Rex-the tiny dinosaur, Daisy the Velcro codependent labrador and Buddy, the smiling golden retriever. I enjoy research, messy crafts, fixing things, camping and photography. I always keep a pocket microscope on hand for potential adventure.
