Forest Schools

Our Forest School Programs at Steven's Creek Nature Center and Elon Park are designed to connect the natural world and core academics — so the purpose of the classroom comes alive under the trees.

Core academics, deepened

Where core subjects meet the natural world.

With a focus on nature exploration, critical thinking, creativity and environmental education as well as core subjects such as science, ELA, history, art, and social studies, students make amazing connections with the world around them. We encourage problem solving and independent learning opportunities. Hiking, experiments, play and learning all happen under the trees, in the creeks and in the mud.

Tour either location

Families interested in Forest School at either location may tour at Steven's Creek Nature Center, Indian Trail or Monroe locations.
